Controller Ratings
The network utilizes a standardized rating structure. Each step introduces new airspace complexities, radio techniques, and traffic volumes.
Observer
Your entry point. Learn network basics, software setup, and listen to active frequencies. Observers cannot control live traffic but may assist during major events.
Ground Controller
Manage surface movements. Issue IFR clearances, pushback approvals, and taxi instructions. Focuses on ground collision avoidance and structured radiotelephony.
Tower Controller
Own the active runways. Coordinate takeoffs, landings, VFR patterns, and runway crossings. Requires fast decision-making and precise timing.
Approach Controller
Terminal radar control. Sequence arriving aircraft into the final approach fix and separate departing traffic climbing to cruise altitudes.
Enroute Center
Control vast sectors of upper airspace. Manage high-altitude cruise separation, handoffs between adjacent facilities, and complex flow control strategies.
Training Path
Theory & Self-Study
Complete our interactive modules covering basic aviation laws, meteorology, and phraseology before touching a radar scope.
Simulation Sandbox
Practice controlling simulated offline traffic loops to build confidence with the software tools and hotkeys.
Live Mentorship
Connect live on the network with an assigned mentor. Guide real virtual pilots while receiving instant feedback and guidance.
Checkout Exam
Perform an Over-The-Shoulder (OTS) practical exam during peak traffic. Pass to earn your new rating globally.
Mentors & Support
Our training philosophy relies on direct, one-on-one mentorship. Dedicated instructors donate their time to review your theoretical progress and sit "over your shoulder" during simulated and live sessions.
